5 Crazy Tips To Keep Your Yoga Groove

5 Crazy Tips To Keep Your Yoga Groove

How many times have you started something and failed?

You get inspired. Maybe it’s the new year, your birthday, or you got some bad news from your doctor.

You do your research and find a yoga studio. This time, you’re going to get those results you’ve been craving.

You sign up. You show up. And you love every minute of it.

Then you never step foot in the yoga studio again.

Am I right?

You’re not alone. It happens to everyone.

Believe it or not, there’s some helpful science to explain it all. That’s good news because that means there’s an easy solution to end this vicious cycle. And you can start right now.

Would you like to learn more?

The Study

Baylor University did a study on individualized exercise behaviors.

They taught 53 female students an exercise program. The researchers gave them a single instruction: do the program on your own, three days a week, for six weeks.

The goal was to see how hard they would push themselves if left to their own devices.

Can you guess what happened?

According to the data, every single person quit.

The reason? Without social support, the participants didn’t feel confident in the gym.

The Solution

Here are five tips -as crazy as they may sound- to keep you from falling off the wagon.

1) Find a yoga buddy.
You’re more likely to achieve success when you’ve got support. Find a buddy who is like-minded and wants results similar to what you want.

You can hold each other accountable and keep each other motivated. It will also be helpful to find someone who has the same schedule you have.

If your schedules don’t match, don’t let that stop you. See tip number two.

2) Online support.
Facebook works. Texting works. Email works.

Nothing beats human interaction for support. But life is crazy. When all else fails, use these powerful tools as an excuse for you and your buddy to achieve your goals. You may not be able to walk into the yoga studio together, but you can still check in with each other and keep moving forward.

3) Do your homework.
Look for a yoga studio that has a solid reputation for getting people -like you- the goals they want.

Your goal is to find a place where you’ll feel comfortable and safe. Make sure the classes are filled with like-minded students who will support you.

4) Make a commitment.
The secret to long-term, positive, results is showing up.

Fitness guru, Mark Reifkind, has an expression, “Consistency beats intensity every time.” You don’t have to do hardcore or extreme types of yoga. All you have to do is show up, do the work consistently, and you’ll get the results you want.

It’s that simple.

5) Give it a chance.
Do you have a friend who always eats healthy and they always go to yoga?

It’s like they’re on auto-pilot, right?

Believe me, they didn’t start that way (no one does). Like you, they struggled to get started. But once they got going and stayed consistent with the process, it became their lifestyle.

It will happen to you, too.

You Can Do It

It can be frustrating when you try to make positive change in your life but keep failing.

It doesn’t have to be that way.

You can rise above the obstacles and put an end to the endless chain of circumstances that stop you.

It’s easy.

Grab your phone, call a friend, do some homework, and get started.

Do it today. And before you know it, you’ll establish a new and exciting way of living. A lifestyle that gets you the results you desire.

You’ve got this!
