Happy Spine (Easy Mobility For Your Entire Back)

Have you heard this quote from Joseph Pilates?
“You’re only as young as your spine is flexible.”
There are similar quotes floating around attributed to different teachers from different schools. The message is clear: Take care of your spine.
In this easy follow along video, we’ll go through a simple progression that may help you regain valuable mobility you may have lost in your stiffening spine.
Grab your yoga mat.
1) Have a seat. Take a moment and see how you feel. There are not right or wrong answers … it’s just data.
2) Begin with the Windshield Wipers.
3) Try adding some gentle twisting.
4) Maybe add a pushing motion to gently increase the intensity of the twist.
5) How do you feel now?
Remember: there are no right or wrong answers … just data. But taking “mental inventory” can help create a stronger mind/body connection.
Breathing tip: inhale when your knees are up during the Windshield Wipers … and exhale when your knees are down. During the twists … exhale during the twist and inhale in-between.
