3 Easy Strength Moves To Improve Your Yoga

Always get clearance from your doctor or healthcare provider before trying any new exercise or exercise program.

Want to make your yoga poses feel easier? And safer?

It sounds crazy and sometimes it may be hard to believe … but … when you use your muscles in a coordinated effort, your yoga poses can feel solid instead of shaky and firm instead of soft. That kind of trusted foundation can lead to feelings of confidence instead of insecurity.

Shall I show you how?

1) Grab your yoga mat.

2) Grab a weight (dumbbell or kettlebell or whatever) that is easy to handle, but has a little “heft” to it. You want to feel your muscles working in a safe way.

3) Warm up for a few minutes … and when you feel ready …

4) Follow along with me and practice the Single Legged Deadlift (suitcase variation), the High Runner’s Lunge with a Row, and Goblet-Style Mountain Pose.

5) Use the muscle-toning feeling of sturdiness you get from the strength moves during your normal yoga practice.

Supplement your practice with these simple strength moves as needed. Just a few focused repetitions is all you need to help you with a mind/body connection taking your practice to the next level.
